About cliff

William Clifford (“Cliff”) Dickinson, Jr. is a nationally recognized crane, rigging, and material handling safety expert with over 45 years of experience. 


Since 1972, Cliff has worked as:  
 

  • Co-Founder & President, Crane Industry Services, LLC
     
  • Co-Founder & Vice President, Crane Institute of America, Inc.
     
  • Founding Partner, Lifting Technologies, Inc., a leading manufacturer of personnel lifting platforms
     
  • Inventor of the patented Quick Claw® lifting safety device


Cliff has been an OSHA-approved surveyor with signatory authority for maritime material handling devices and has served as president of an ANSI-accredited crane operator certification program. He has helped shape national safety standards as a longtime member and alternate member of the ASME B30 and P30 committees.
